Krogh's Gold
Krogh's Gold

This is the christening brew from our new state of the art brew house. You can peer into our beautiful beer kitchen from our expanded brew pub area. Each detail has been meant to insure that the unique, rustic atmosphere of Krogh's has been preserved. That same special attention was paid to our Krogh's Gold: a crisp, mildly malted, mildly hopped beer with a perfect balance. A golden introduction to our delectable brews.

Alpine Glow Red Ale Alpine Glow Red Ale

Nestled in the hills on the west side of Lake Mohawk is the upper lake section of the reservation, known as the Alpine, for its beautiful stand of evergreens. When the sun sets over the western hills, and atmospheric conditions are just right, the east side of the lake is treated to a breathtaking, almost surreal amber aura. Old timers have taken to calling this spectacle the "Alpine Glow." You can enjoy this natural display of color right from the comfort of Krogh's interior while drinking our red ale. Alpine Glow Red Ale has a creamy, soft texture characterized by a very pleasant malt-hop interaction, a generous foam bounces atop. Tantalizingly complex, it finishes with a malty aroma and an easy hop flavor, the best of both worlds.

Brogden Meadow Pale Ale Brogden Meadow Pale Ale

Did you know before the Wallkill River was dammed in 1925 to create Lake Mohawk, the valley was known as Brogden Meadow? A beautiful area dotted with farms, its name honored a 17th century judge who settled here to grow a form of hops. Did you know that the pale ale style originated with the English, who were in the midst of colonizing India & were faced with the problem of providing good, drinkable beer to their foreign troops? Generous portions of hops were added to fresh beer to preserve it during the long ocean voyage around the Horn of Africa. Brogden Meadow Pale Ale pays homage to a historic community and a time honored beer style; a well hopped brew teaming with easy drinking flavor.

See our History page for some great pictures of Lake Mohawk when it was a meadow.

Log Cabin Nut Brown Log Cabin Nut Brown

Lake Mohawk was the vision of Arthur D. Crane. His idea was to create a rustic country retreat where city dwellers could come for the fresh air, beautiful scenery and relaxation. Krogh's was the cornerstone of the tudor style village he built from rough hewn logs, field stone and the hard work of local tradesmen. A handsomely crafted combination just like Log Cabin Nut Brown; a smooth drinking, nutty malt packed brew full of flavor, aroma and texture.

Old Krogh Oatmeal Stout Old Krogh Oatmeal Stout

Since 1937 this site has been home to many an "Old Krogh." While Krogh is the Danish sir name of the second owners, it's a bird that has symbolized this community center, known for serving six generations of Lake Mohawk residents and visitors. An Old Crow was the original name of the local band From Good Homes who started out in Sparta High School in the 1970's. Old Krogh Oatmeal Stout has a rich mahogany hue and a full creamy head. It boosts a dry roasted oatmeal-malt flavor with mildly sweet, nutty, chocolate like overtones. It's a tasty stout with all the right ingredients! Our Black & Tans are delicious.

Three Sisters Golden Wheat Three Sisters Golden Wheat

The newest addition to Krogh's menu of hand-crafted brews, a delicious tribute beer, named to honor our brewer's three golden-haired daughters, Shelley, Taryn and Shannan. Three Sisters Golden Wheat is a smooth drinking filtered wheat beer that can be served on it's own, or garnished with a lemon wedge or raspberry syrup.

Special note to our customers: Due to a worldwide shortage of hops, an important ingredient in all our craft-brewed beers, we are limited in our brewing capability for the next 9-12 months. Accordingly, we have temporarily suspended the sale of all hand-crafted beer in 5- and 15.5-gallon kegs. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have cause, and look forward to the return of sale of our hand-crafted beers in kegs at a future date.
