Why do we celebrate National Beer Day? Do we really need a reason to drink beer? Not really, but on April 7, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act, which allowed production of beer to resume after a 13 year dry spell! Prohibition was over and altho beer only contained 3.2% alcohol by weight at the time, people were elated to have it back and consumed 1.5 million barrels of beer on April 7, 1933! We officially kick off this unofficial holiday with an Allagash White on tap, a traditional Belgian wheat beer! Cheers!
